An Important Milestone in the Polydeck Journey

We’re pleased to share an important milestone in the Polydeck journey.

Our management team has successfully completed the purchase of Polydeck from Genuit Group, marking a new chapter for the company as we move forward as an independent limited business.

Polydeck has been part of Genuit Group since 2021, during which time we have continued to develop our offering, designing and manufacturing durable GRP solutions for bridges and boardwalks, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and the use of recycled materials.

During our time under Genuit ownership, we have strengthened our sustainability message and reinforced our commitment to environmental responsibility. Polydeck has been awarded three independently verified Environmental Product Declarations for our planks, posts and rails. We have also moved to using 100% renewable energy, achieved ‘zero to landfill’ status, and saved over 2 million plastic bottles from being sent to landfill by using our 100% recycled bottle foam core in our products.

Following a recent review, it was agreed that Polydeck would be better placed to continue its growth outside of the wider group, creating the opportunity for this transition.

What This Means in Practice

For our customers, partners and suppliers, it’s very much business as usual, delivering the same high standards of quality, service and technical support that underpin every Polydeck project. Our focus remains unchanged: providing robust, low-maintenance solutions that help improve access to outdoor spaces while protecting the environments they sit in.

Becoming independent gives us greater flexibility to build on these strengths and continue developing our product range in line with the needs of our customers and partners. We are particularly focused on developing sales to our target markets, which include local authorities and public sector operators, and focusing on delivering our core products, which are bridges, boardwalks and planks to local authorities, and anti-slip panels and treads for our rail customers.

A comment from our Managing Director

Chris Spooner, Managing Director at Polydeck, commented:

“One of the old adages in business is to try and leave it in a better state than you found it, and I think Genuit managed to achieve that with Polydeck. We’ve had a fantastic start to 2026, and have a burgeoning forward order book and an incredibly healthy pipeline, with some big projects dropping in 2026 and 2027. It’s been a bit of a dream start after a few quiet years, so the team is feeling really optimistic about the immediate and mid-term future.”

We’d like to thank everyone at Genuit Group for their support over the past few years, as well as our customers and partners who continue to work with us across a wide range of projects.

We’re looking forward to what comes next!
